How long is obama economic policy will catch up with us? 10 trillion dollars creating new jobs if ur going to insult me don't answer the question the question is how long will obama economic policy catch up with us? The 1.3 trillion bailout is going to have to be paid for somehow.
The Dems keep saying Obama economic policy is good, but what is it? The only thing I hear he was going to do was raise taxes on the rich and companies. How is that suppose to be good? Wouldn't companies just leave as they have been and the rich would spend less, then the retailers would suffer and create a chain reation ending in loss of jobs. What else is in his plan?
What is Obama's current economic policy? I keep hearing new things everyday about the stimulus and Obama's economic policies...What is he doing about the economy? Is it effective or not and why?
Why is Obama's economic policy compared to Robin Hood? Robin Hood stole from the government and gave to the people. Obama wants to steal from the people and give to the government. So why is Obama's economic policies compared to Robin Hood?
Is Obama's economic policy to increase egg production by strangling the chicken? It must make sense to his supporters who support his energy policy of inflating your tires to bring gas prices down. Does Hussein's space program involve a tin-foil hat?
Do you think Clinton's more centrist economic policy than Obama will help or hurt her for the nomination? Do you think, as re-affirmed by the PHL debate last night, that Hillary Clinton's economic policies including her more moderate taxation proposals than Barack Obama, will hurt or help her in her quest for the nomination?
If Obama had an inciteful and new economic policy that he believed in, would he have difficulty passing a bill? It is disappointing to see how little leadership on the economic issues Obama has shown. Gathering up Pelosi's social spending bill is hardly a new economic strategy. I find Obama's leadership as hollow and insipid as those that think tax cuts are the only solution. The problem, I'm sure, is far more complicated!
Obama's economic policy is in direct conflict with everything I know about economics. ? How will his policy create more jobs and wealth for the middle class when no one will invest in business allowing them the money to grow and create jobs. I have never been offered a job by someone with no money to spend.
What will Obama call his economic policy? Reagan called his economic policy "Trickle down economics". This was an accurate assessment of the policy. Should Obama call his economic policy; "Trickle up poverty'? www.michealsavage.com
Question about Obama economic policy? Do you think Obama will swoop in like some sort of superhero and save you like a erm..."Captain save-a-you"?
How can you say that Obama has a better economic policy for this country? When his policy is blatant socialism? Since when is penalizing the successful and rewarding the lazy part of America's philosophy?
How is the economic policy of Barack Obama different from Socialism and Marxism? Please do not take my question as an insult or jab. I simply do not understand how "spread the wealth around" is different from "from each according to his ability, to each according to his need." Again, I am not trying to be negative here. I just need someone knowledgable to explain the difference to me. Thanks in advance! This comes from someone who has never studied Socialism or Marxism and has no opinion (positive or negative) on either philosophy. I am politically neutral and simply want to understand the facts.
If elected, would Barack Obama's economic policies debilitate or invigorate the economy? Would Obama's economic policies ultimately weaken our economy or would they strengthen it? Your thoughts? (It would be helpful if you could cite a specific policy in support of your answer, if possible.) Thanks.
Does anyone think Obama's economic policy is better than Clinton's? WHY? Obama wants to raise the capital gains tax to 28%, Hillary would not raise it higher than to 20% if even that. Obama has greater spending plans than Hillary and is also offering some tax cuts. How is this even possible? Where is the money going to come from??
Why is the Obama Economic Policy worstening the economy? The typical Obama Supporter will say.."He isn't President Yet, how can he" but the astute NoBama (a far more superior intellect) reasons that the big businesses are cutting their losses now in Tax Year 2008 because capital loss or gain will be more better this Tax Year 2009. (Helloooo....I been telling Obama Supporters that the wealthy are countering Obama's tax proposal even now...BECAUSE OBAMA ALREADY TIPPED HIS HAND!!!! AND TOLD THEM!!!) Additionally, big businesses and the wealthy are preserving their captial (not investing it) because they don't trust Obama as a Pro-Business guy....and they are waiting to see what he will actually do. If Obama wants to help the country out...he needs to announce that he won't raise taxes period.... Good Job Obama....Way to Go! DELPHI, Paulson...is a dope. What else can I say!!!!
President Obama's Economic Policy? What is President Obama's Economic Policy ?
Who has a better economic policy? Obama or McCain? or more importantly, what is McCain's economic policy
How long will it take us to recover from the Bush / Obama economic policies? teewalk - both George W. Bush and Barack Obama are socialists. No real change here. Agent Smith - yes he was. He grew the size and power of government more than any president before him. Obama is following his lead.
Are you looking forward to Lord Obama's economic policy? So basically his only economic policy is to tax my employer until it goes out of business. Then, when i'm out of a job, Obama can hire me as a green guy so i'll spend my days hugging trees and building tiny wooden bridges for ants to cross over. I don't know about you but i like my job. Ned, what are you talking about? If taxes doesn't cause every small business and corporation to go bankrupt, Lord Osama's energy policy will make SURE they all go bankrupt. Either way, its a win win for Osama and his socialist world. I know exactly what Bush has done and it has no relation to my question. Bush lowered taxes compared to Lord Obama's plan. It was the only thing that has kept this country afloat because its the only thing left that supports small business and corporations. Once that's gone, they'll have nothing. Becides the fact that Bush's $3 trillion budget is insanely liberal, at least he's not out there trying to destroy the worlds greatest free market. Holy $*&!. he's planning on 5 million green jobs!! http://www.barackobama.com/issues/economy/ I thought it was only 1 million. What a moron McFry isn't any better.
Obama lying about his economic policy? I heard from someone that Obama first announced that he would cut taxes for anyone making under $250 thousand/year. Then later he said $200 thousand. Then later he lowered it again, and again, and kept on lying about his policies. Is this true, or was my friend overexaggerating?
If Republicans say Obama's economic policy is Socialist....? Can McCain's economic policy be considered Feudalism?
How will Obama's "spread the wealth" economic policy affect you? Do you have any "wealth" (a.k.a. hard-earning savings) for him to spread or do you expect to be a recipient of his vicarious largesse? Do you have a job that may be endangered by excessive taxation or do you live off a bi-monthly hand-out from hard-working taxpayers?
What consequences would a failure of Obama's economic policies have on average people? Is this why conservatives want Obama to fail? oldmarine08, Moronic? Did you bother to read the answers provided by your fellow conservatives?
Would Obama take the Democrats backwords in economic policy? Like him or not, Bill Clinton was a centrist economically. In his speeches prior to becoming President Clinton highlighted the need for the party to embrace many "supply side" policys. Clinton led the charge for a balanced budget, and free trade agreements, which spelled prosperity and wealth creation during his tenure. None of this is heard from Obama. In fact, he has spoken out against free trade agreements, and, has offered little by way of knowing how many pro business growth initiatives he would support if President. So, is Obama going to take the Democrats back a generation?
Better economic policy? Obama or Ron Paul?? Which of these candidates would lower spending, taxes, and avoid recession? Feel free to post your explanation. Thanks.
What are your views on Obama's economic policies? Pro's and Con's welcome. Here is my view on his economic policy: He is like a modern Robin Hood. Take from the middle class and give to the baby factories and crack addicted who would rather sit on their ever widening butts and cash a government check than make a productive life for themselves. it boils down to this: Take from those who can barely afford it and give to those who don't deserve it.
Is anyone aware of the similarities between Obama's economic policies and those implemented in Germany 1933? I'm not saying the administration is planning genocide, but this type of policy contributed to Hitler's rise to power in Germany. Doesn't this raise red flags? http://constitutionalistnc.tripod.com/hitler-leftist/id10.html Call me crazy...you've been warned.
Which of Obama's economic policies are considered socialist? I understand Obama wants the government to regulate business, but which specific policies?
How will Obama's economic policies effect the value of the dollar and the standard of living the middle class So, the Obama supporters just say "better". Can't say in what way? Can't say how? Just regurgitate what ol' Mr. Obama said. Did he inspire you so much that you don't even question?
Question about Obama's economic policy ? Funny thing about rich people and smart business owners...they didn't get where they are by making stupid decisions. When you have money you can afford the best accountants who figure out the best way to hide their money from the tax collectors. Latest word is a lot of small business owners are planning to put enough money into tax exempt municipal bonds to keep them under 250k. This is great for the infrastructure of our cities but it doesn't help to pay for Obama's new policies. I believe the same thing that happened with Bill Clinton will happen to Obama. He will realize that he is not getting enough money from the rich to support his policy so he will have to raise taxes on all of us. I don't know if it will happen in his first 3 months as president like Clinton but it inevitably will happen. I'm not totally against his proposed policies but there is no way he is going to get all the money he needs from only 5% of the people.
Obama and McCain economic policy? The debate last night obviously put two very contrasting styles in the same arena. There were some strong points for both candidates and there was one thing that to me stood out clear. McCain is firmly for cutting taxes even to the point of his opponent. Obama wants to cut taxes for the majority of the country while raising a little on others. This is pretty much the debate that has gone on forever between Kenigsin economists and others. The idea that raising taxes during a time of economic hardships for everyone does sound unplesant and could hurt the economy overall. But we must understand I think that the economic is already damaged and it has been because of some serious lack of accountability, wasteful spending, and rampant greed that has pretty much taken over the idea of what capitalism was supposed to represent. Even with that idea higher taxes sound dreary but how else do any of us believe we will return to any position of calm with taxes? Some one, pretty much us will have to pay for this. All of us may not have caused it but the fact that we are all in this together is unquestionable. Yes higher taxes are not appealing to the richest of americans and companies but how many of us actually enjoy the calm environment of a millionaire or billionaire? I will give McCain props that he did very well in the debate and he may have made it more of a race now but Obama and his understanding of economic policy was pretty solid. McCain sharpened his economics as well though in a much more virgorous manner. What do you think? Hey im not a republican.
What will Obama's economic policy be called? We had Reagan's Voo Doo economics/Trickle Down economics, then we had Clinton with his Expansionist economics, the G.W. bush with "What's a eco-monomonics?" what are some nicknames you can come up with for Obama's economic plans? I am not looking for insults, just for clever nicknames to look forward to in the future. PLEASE if you feel you need to rant, do so elsewhere. I didn't vote for him either but i am not throwing a hissy fit over it.
What measures are you taking to prepare for Obama's economic policies once he becomes Prez? Personally, I've taken the following actions: 1. Stored 6 months of food and ammo in my garage 2. Converted my car to work on cooking oil 3. Purchased extra ammo and survival gear 4. Cash out all my stoick investments (Im not alone, thats why the market is tanking) 5. Converted my cash to Euros Kelly J: Im trying to avoid the effects of socialism not accelerate them?!
What is B. Obama's Economic Policy and who are his advisors? "His major adviser is Zbigniew Brzezinski, of the Council on Foreign Relations which is writing the plans for The NAU or what the call the North American Community. I expect most of his others are from the CFR as well."
Is Romney correct, that Hillary or Obama are too naive and untutored on economic policy? Romney alluded to this in a speech he gave yesterday to conservatives. Hillary stated that she would "freeze" interest rates for 5 years, as an example. Yikes, it is hard to think that she has been around Bill and DC this long, and, can still say someting that uninformed and, frankly, dangerous.
What do Obama's economic policies mean to you? To me, it means my dad is going to have to work more years so he can pay for his 3 children to go to college and get married. All because Obama's "brothers' need some money so they can live a life they haven't earned.
Do you consider Obama's economic policy to be "Socialist"? I'm starting wonder about this guy and his economic policies. He wants to do the following: Raise taxes Nationalize Banks Increase Capital Gains Tax to 35% Creating more bailouts How could you raise capital gains tax to 35% if the economy needs money for it to operate? Why would you nationalize banks? This is a Communist (at best) way of dealing with our economic troubles. He also supports more bailouts....That will make our children and grand children slaves.....Is there just something wrong with this picture? Hey.....Bailing out banks is more Communist than China's economy!!!!!!! At least in China if you have a bank that fails, the Government won't bail them out for stupid mistakes. Our banks gave out dumb loans and now want tax payer to hold the bag??? WTF??? If I made a bunch of dumb financial mistakes and went into debt the government and American people wouldn't bail me out. So why bail out some stupid financial institutions??? Government controlled banks is freakin Communist!!!!
How did Obama's economic policies cause the economic crises in Japan and Europe? Lots of people saying the US and foreign markets are linked yet, their recessions started in 2007.... interesting. I agree with you.
Please explain the essence of Obama's economic policy. Other than throwing $, how will the bank bailout work? As NY POST reporting on 03/05/09 there are " fresh threats of higher taxes on the most productive people in the country and a bank bailout that remains a mystery. Plus policy measures that contradict each other - like vows to unclog the banking system of toxic mortgage debt, along with a mortgage "cram down" that would make that debt more toxic. " Furthermore why is it that Geithner can not attract experienced advisors (other than academics) and Paul Volcker, who got us out of terrible 70s inflation, is being totally ignored by the administration? This is a policy question. Please make sure your answers are factual. I do not want to hear that this will create jobs and blah blah blah unless you can provide a specific example or theory.
Obama's economic policy? ok he wants to tax businesses, so that they have to lay people off, and raise prices, he wants to give more to welfare cases, crack addicts and baby factories. How does this in ANY WAY help me, the middle income, middle of the road, not on any welfare programs voter? Sarah B: enjoy the negative points for spam content.
Does Obama actually have an economic policy? This might seem like a strange question but "helping people" and providing relief isn't economic policy, its social policy. What confuses me is that the core of an economic policy is how to grow the economy. What Obama is proposing, i.e. higher taxes, might help a few industries (green technology for example) but would discourage investment and the creation of new businesses and jobs in most sectors overall. This isn't my opinion either, its Econ 101. So what is Obama's plan to grow the economy? Please don't infuse social policy into your explanation because I can actually tell the difference. "Yes, lower taxes on those making less than $250,000, make college affordable, increase green energy such as wind, solar, and clean coal, lower dependence on foreign oil, create more jobs, by offering tax credits to companies who create such jobs...." Yes, I admitted there iwll be more jobs in the green sector. Not sure how lowering taxes on people making less than $250k will create jobs. Nor do I see how having a college degree will magically create a job. Nor do I see how paying a company to create a job is actually a non-government created job. "According to Senator McCain the Econimic is sound, so we dont any changes to our Economic policy." According to Barney Frank and the other Democrats who wanted to give cheap loans to irresponsible poor people, Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac are sound so no changes need to be made to them. By the way, I think McCain's economic policy sucks too, insomuch as he supported the bail out. I just think Obama's (lack thereof) is worse.
Where does Obama get all of his economic and foriegn policy experience from? Since he has neither, will people continue to play puppet masters to him? Should we call him President Puppet if he wins?
Do Obama economic policies represent a major Democratic party relapse into Great Society social spending? and taxation? Is it a return to the LBJ/Nixon era, and a move away from the Reagan/Clinton period? MSNBC actually had this. So I was surprised. http://www.cnbc.com/id/29434104
Why do 80% of professional economists say Obama has the better economic policy? ? Eighty per cent of respondents and no fewer than 71% of those who do not cleave to either main party say Mr Obama has a better grasp of economics. Even among Republicans Mr Obama has the edge: 46% versus 23% say Mr Obama has the better grasp of the subject. “I take McCain’s word on this one,” comments James Harrigan at the University of Virginia, a reference to Mr McCain’s infamous confession that he does not know as much about economics as he should. In fairness, Mr McCain’s lower grade may in part reflect greater candour about his weaknesses. Mr Obama’s more tightly managed image leaves fewer opportunities for such unvarnished introspection. A candidate’s economic expertise may matter rather less if he surrounds himself with clever advisers. Unfortunately for Mr McCain, 81% of all respondents reckon Mr Obama is more likely to do that; among unaffiliated respondents, 71% say so. That is despite praise across party lines for the excellent Doug Holtz-Eakin, Mr McCain’s most prominent economic adviser and a former head of the Congressional Budget Office. “Although I have tended to vote Republican,” one reply says, “the Democrats have a deep pool of talented, moderate economists.” Where the candidates’ positions are more clearly articulated, Mr Obama scores better on nearly every issue: promoting fiscal discipline, energy policy, reducing the number of people without health insurance, controlling health-care costs, reforming financial regulation and boosting long-run economic growth. Twice as many economists think Mr McCain’s plan would be bad or very bad for long-run growth as Mr Obama’s. Given how much focus Mr McCain has put on his plan’s benefits for growth, this last is quite a repudiation." http://www.economist.com/world/unitedstates/displaystory.cfm?story_id=12342127 Booman: And yet Republican economists were included in the survey, and 46% of them gave Obama the better grade.
Are McCain voters afraid Obama will take us back to the dark days of Clinton's liberal economic policy? Remember how bad it was? + We had a budget surplus, and didn't need to loan money from the Chinese + 42 million new jobs were created + Wages were increasing at a record pace + Government discretionary spending was far lower than Bush, Bush OR Reagan Is John McCain the only person that can prevent this from happening again?
Was everyone aware that Obama was such a brilliant genius on economic and business policy? NOT! Now, Obama is just a mouthpiece of the Jewish economists. This is like putting a schoolboy in the cockpit of a jumbo jet while the real pilots yell instructions from business class.
Will Obama's economic policies help or hurt job growth? He must hope to stimulate job growth in some way right? What about his tax credit for full-time employees and the possibility of green jobs? How do they factor into the equation?
A great breakdown of Obama's misguided economic policy. What do you think? ? ***WATCH THIS THEN ANSWER***: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oM3Ls8NNc5Q This is how Obama's tax plan will destroy our economic system known as Capitalism. America is about GETTING yourself motivated and moving up the class ranks, if that is you want to do. America is NOT about the government telling you how to live and what to do. The American dream is getting ONESELF rich, the American dream is not getting a $1000 tax refund, to go and spend on goods that have been inflated do to poor economic policy. What is the use of a $1000 check if the goods cost twice as much? It does not matter the source, this is BASIC economics. What Obama wants to do is a great road to socialism, too bad this is a capitalist system. How are you ever going to live the American dream if jobs are forced out of America by stressing the people who operate businesses in America??? It's hard to live the dream without a job.
Is anyone afraid Obama will bring us back to the dark days of Clinton's 'liberal' economic policy? Remember.... + Balanced budgets + Record job creation + Record increase in wages + Lower discretionary spending increases than Bush, Bush or Reagan Remember all the bad stuff? I don't either. Yet, all you hear are Republicans acting like Obama's going to destroy the economy the moment he gets into office. Bush got his tax cuts and 84,000 people lost their job last month....and I'm supposed to fear Obama? Right.
Don't you think Warren Buffet supporting Obama speak alot about Obam's Economic policies? Buffet is one of the wealthiest men in the world. Clearly he knows about economics. He supports Obama, doesn't that say something about Obama's economic plan? Buffet is one of the largest philanthropists on the planet.
What are the economic policies of Obama and McCain? I am really confuse because I keep reading different stuff on different sites.
What do you think about Obama's planned economic policies? How are they different or similar to Bush's? How will they improve or hurt the economy? Please use INTELLIGENT points and analysis, not bitter snippets. Please address the following points: 1. Raising capital gains 2. Bailing out companies -planned additional bailouts for Banks and GM/Ford 3. Another stimulus package 4. Raising taxes on businesses 5. Raising taxes/tariffs on bsinesses who operate overseas 6. Increasing unemployment/social programs 7. Letting Bush's tax cuts expire 8. Strong union backing 9. Any other policy I missed
Is the reason McCain calls Obama dishonest on national security because McCain is in denial over the Iraq war? Is what America needs right now a president who is unable to admit to the abysmal failure that is bush's foreign and economic policies? Too proud to admit error, is McCain forced to embrace those failed policies that have so wounded America these past 7 years?
What Experience Qualifies Barack Obama to be the Next President of the United States? Does Hillary have a point? We are asking someone to: Bring significant changes to Domestic Economic Policies Face our Current Health Care System Deal with Global Terrorism etc I mean if elected he will have spent 2 years as a US Senator...which 1 1/2 year will be spent campaigning. for President. (He annouced his bid on May 2, just 5 months after being inaugurated) I mean...does she have a point? Disclaimer: I'm not exactly a Hillary Fan.
Is Obama being handed a Poisoned Economic Chalice? When you consider the economy that Clinton left, it is almost expected that Bush and the Republicans were going to follow the slash and burn policy.
Are you aware of these proposed tax changes? Suzi- I read the WHOLE thing- it affects me. You would be wise to read the whole thing as well.
What opportunities both Presidential Candidates let pass? I think Obama should have put Rev Wright down when the issue first came about. That issue cause many to question rather he was a racist, even though his own mother was white and the people who raised him were too. Secondly, he should have had more of his wife speeches vetted early on. The "first time in my adult life I am proud of my country" statement caused great damage to the campaign. Third he still has not sole up the holes in his compaign that Hilary exposed. Like the cultural and economic message. Obama needs to do what Bill & George did in making Americans feel they were just one of the guys and not elisted. Now John McCain has allow Obama to dictate the message. It seems like he has no economical message and he wants us to vote for him because he supported the surge ( Which in reality Dr Rice was the first person in the Adminstration that came out publicly with the "Surge Idea", I ask all you to go back to 2006 and her comments to the Senate Foreign Relation Committee.) John McCain did always say we need more troops, but most military insiders said the same thing. They just could not get Rumsfeld to see that Things that can help his bid for the Presidential office is, One John McCain needs to get more Business leaders to support his economic policies, and charge Obama economic policies as bad for the economy.(I am sorry guys but the scare tactics do work). Also John McCain has to come out with things he differ with George Bush on Lets start the debate guys. I know their are real issues on the table that affect real people lives. But can we keep it clean
Obama, the president for you? I have spent an hour looking at obama's policies, and I am sorry to say it just doesn't add up. His economic policy is too short sighted His foreign policy is almost identical to the status quo On illegal immigration he can't see the big picture But he is very nice at giving pretty little speaches with plenty of buzz words, but actually when critically analysing his speach it all BS. However compared to the other front runners he is better. When Obama becomes president he is going to be like the pilot on the Hindenburg. I can't run for president Hillary or McCain are mental
What are these "Economic Policies" I have heard so much about? Presidential candidates are talking alot about "Presdident Bush's Economic Policies" and how these policies are responsible for all our economic woes. But what exactky are these policies? I am NOT asking for a political opinion, for or against either Bush or any other politicians. I do not care whetther on not you support Bush, or McCain, Obama, or Fred Thompson What I AM asking is what exactly are the "economic policies" that Bush have allegedly promoted that Presidential candidates have been talking so much about.
Does Obama remind you of a Highschool kid running for Class President making empty promises? Does Obama remind you of the kid at highschool running for class president that promises things like free pop out of the pop machines and no homework on Friday? It seems like he is promising too much. People act like he is a wizard and the minute he steps in office he can just wave a magic wand and everything is going to be instantly better! That's NOT reality! It seems like people aren't REALLY listening to his econmic policy. They just see the color of his skin and they are so eager to get a Black man in office they will do ANYTHING. Don't people understand how much Obama is going to raise taxes? People who don't really understand Economic Policies should NOT be allowed to vote! When Obama puts his Economic Policy into action don't people realize how many lay-offs there are going to be. The middle class people will be the hardest hit by the lay-offs. And the only people who REALLY win in the end are Welfare recipients!
Is Obama just a democratic version of GW? Is Obama just an idealistic media construct, who plans on being a hands off president while the party cronies run the government? In what ways do Obama's economic welfare policies offer change? He seems to be a throw back to the seventies.
obama and foreign policy? I dont really know if he is really good with economic policies but I believe he has the best quality when it comes to foreign policy, what do you think. Pakistan is actually a better target. although he may be only thinking of unilaterally invading there to get rid of terroirts (whom the US should have gone after in the first place), he could go after their nukes as well, it would send a strong message to Iran and N.Korea. Pakistan is a failed state with NUKEs and is likely to war with India someday if nothing is done. Intervention in Sudan is good because it improve US reputation and give justification for next possible US intervention where there is REAL risk. I am sick of those who use idealistic excuse for the war, democracy, human rights, or free market... Leaders should be realists and stop being idealists. Mccain and Clintons are the ones caught in rhetoric and not seeing the National Interests when FP is about power, not honor or principles addition: Terroists(Sunni foundamentalists) in Pakistan can't escape to India or Iran because Iran is radical Shiia and India detests terroirts. Pakistan is the place to end all this. As for those who suggests arming Pakistani millitary... training them take too long and not only gonna cause problem with India, but technology can be stolen, weapons could be taken over by terrorists, so its a terrible idea. Diplomacy can be a weapon with long term planning. Temporary peace with an enemy is strategy. See Hitler? Peace with Soviet just to flank them later? I'm sorry but I don't think even the US cannot deal with so many enemies at the same time. Yes. fighting in Iraq is waste of manpower and money. War in iraq will not end as long as terroirts have safe haven in Pakistan. well planned Intervention in Sudan has nothing to do with idealism... People are getting killed one-sidedly in Sudan. It is Genocide. Stopping genocide isnt idealism. It is achievable. Stopping civil war in Iraq while letting terroists coming in from elsewhere is idealism. Many countries disagree over what democracy or human rights are, but there is general consenesus genocide is unacceptable. Intervention against Sudan is then good place for the US to improve its reputation and at the same time preserving the right to intervene.. Good countries will look up to us, while Bad ones will have to worry... this is not idealism or altruism, but strategic.
Can Obama win a presidential election on charisma alone? When you look at Obama closely he's a paper candidate. He supports failed collectivist USSR-style economic policy, he wants to cut and run from Iraq and he wants to leave America open for more terror attacks. The one thing Obama has going for him is charisma. Can Obama win on his charisma alone even though he's probably the worst presidential candidate in the history of America? When you elect a president on charisma and not experience, character, values, policy, etc, you roll the dice. Case in point: Adolph Hitler.
Is this good economic policy? One of the president's most important duties are as commander-in-chief. Over the summer, Mr. Obama talked about invading Pakistan, a nation armed with nuclear weapons; meeting without preconditions with Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, who vows to destroy Israel and create another Holocaust; and Kim Jong II, who is murdering and starving his people, but emphasized that the nuclear option was off the table against terrorists - something no president has ever taken off the table since we created nuclear weapons in the 1940s. Even Democrats who have worked in national security condemned all of those remarks. Mr. Obama is a foreign-policy novice who would put our national security at risk. I said he talked about it and he did talk about it> What ever you say about my choice of words..the FACT is that he is in-experienced and an bad for the USA.
How is it that the USA and the UK have the same economic problems? Mervyn King, Governor of the Bank of England gave a very downbeat speech today outlining the economic problems facing the UK. Oddly, they were exactly the same economic problems facing the USA. Odd because Obama argues that US economic problems are the result of what he calls "the failed economic policies of the Bush administration" and yet the UK, which has the same problems, has been governed since 1997 by the British Labour Party which is a self described "socialist" party and a member of the Socialist Internationale. If right wing Republicans in the USA and socialists in the UK produce the same results with clearly quite difference policies then doesn't it follow that neither has actually affected anything?. Bamford. If calling Labour "socalist" is laughable then the ones perpetrating the joke are the leaders of Labour since the words " "the Labour Party is a democratic socialist party" are part of the party constitution. HonestTom: True, the Labour Party changed Clause 4 a decade ago and it no longer calls for seizure of the "means of production" but it still describes itself as "socialist." By American standards it is somewhat to the left of the Democrat party mainstream. Indeed, the Tories more nearly resemble the Democrats than the Repbulcians in economic policy. No major party in either the UK or USA is all that far from the center and both countries are nations of moderates. The point is that despite all the perfervid partisanship there doesn't seem to be much effective difference between mainstream parties in either country. Yet on every forum we see ugly, hate filled rants about how this or that mainstream leader will bring the world to rack and ruin (or has already done so). Yet if it makes an earthshaking difference whether Obama or McCain or Brown or Cameron runs their respective governments why this similarity of problems?
Is it true that Obama has told many lies and nobody cares? Want a source? Read his books! Most of it is in there!
Where are the welfare answers coming from, when I ask about taxes? I have read Obama's economic policies three times. I have not seen anything about welfare so are these responses coming from information obtained on Fox News?

Why does Barak Obama think this is sound economic policy regarding oil? http://my.barackobama.com/page/community/post/stateupdates/gG5Rzb Obama has promised to limit speculation on the floor of the Dow here in the US regarding light sweet crude in the futures market. Does he also realize that this action will have ZERO control over limiting speculation that would immediately occur within the other various foreign markets as a result of this limitation? So I'm still asking...wheres Obamas plan to lower gas prices? Please tell me this isnt it! FORGET WAR - Your post is proof that you never took even the most basic Econ101 class beyond high school.
How can Hillary talk about economic policy? When she can not even do the math that there is no way she can catch Obama to win the nomination. She would have to win every remaining state by more than 30%. How does she expect to do that when she is only ahead in the polls by only 7% and that is even after the Wright thing?
How do Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama differ in their economic policies? Do they have different approaches to how to solve our current economic problems? Do they plan to implement different economic policies? etc? Links to articles would be helpful as well. Thanks if you post!
Obama and economic policies effect on American economy? I just read in Bussiness week today a short artical were Obama explained his policies on taxes and improving the economy. While im just a 2nd year college student with a strong understanding of microeconomics, I have little understanding of macroeconomics. But when i read Obamas plans I was very impressed he stated that he will increase the top margin tax rate to 39% and drease taxes for the people under 75 thousand and fix morgages to give the middle class more finacial power and fexability. He also stated he would use descrimatory taxing of the top margin. And while ive heard many argue that high taxes will discrouage domestic investment, but with the bush tax cuts the domestic investment has gone down. But it seems the middle class invest domestically, which might increase domestic economic activity. Also these taxes seem to increase saving and long term economic health. But my question is what do you think of his economic policies? Could u give me more infromation? Oh yeah and also Warren Buffett and Paul Volcker support him so he must know what hes talking about. Cause thoughs two understand economics
Now that Obama has shifter his foreign policy to align with mcCain, will hois economic policies soon change in No matter what spin Obama puts on things, he has basically come on board to McCain's views of Iraq and Afghanistan. Secure Iraq first, listen to military leasders on troops withdrawls and redeployment to Afghanistan. He now plans to meet with economic leaders to see what is best for the short term and long-term for the economy. Does that mean Obama's cyurrent and previous postitions on the economy are/where wrong? Is it because 300 leading economists, including nobel prize winners say they would take McCain' over Obama on a take one or the other basis. Will Obama's new economic strategy sound more and more like.. McCain's?? Either Obama is abandoning Democratic nomination promises or he's want's to just say whatever is needed to win the Whitehouse.
